Davi Birks joins Marin Bikes confirming sponsorship

In a YouTube video uploaded to The Ride Companion, Davi Birks announces his new partnership with Marin Bikes, who will sponsor the founder of TRC Media House.

In a 5-minute long podcast-style video, Birks described both his excitement to become a member of the Marin Bike family and the technical specs of his new bike, the Marin Trail E Bosch.

Birks said: “This my friend is the brand new Marin Trail E Bosch. The biggest, baddest beast in the Marin range. If bikes had a personality, this would be Chuck Norris.”

Birks went on to describe the Marin Trail E Bosch: “It’s built for the gnarliest terrain, steepest descents, and fun climbs. It has got Marins new 4 Series aluminium track frame. 170mil travel up front, 160 in the rear, and they have moved the pivot to the chain stays. Which means better suspension performance and more tuneability.”

Birks clarified this for ‘everyday riders’ stating the bike ‘handles like a dream’ and the bikes geometry can be tweaked to suit the style of the rider using flip chips. The head angel can be tweaked up to plus or minus 75 degrees.

The motor on the bike is part of Bosch’s performance line, providing 85 Newtons of torque and 750W power tube battery. Birks stated: “In layman’s terms, you can climb like a mountain goat.”

A Fox 38 performance Elite Fork 170mil of travel is fitted to the front, whilst the rear has a Fox Float DHX2 performance elite shock for suspension. TRP DHR Evo hydraulic breaks are also installed onto the bike to provide plenty of stopping power.

For changing gears, a Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain has been installed for smooth and reliable changing. This has been paired with Marins CNC 35mil stem.

For safety, rubber guards have been added to the chain stay and the seat stay, as well as a fibreglass infused downtube guard to prevent rocks from damaging the bike. The bike comes with Kushko inserts.

Marin bikes has been making in roads into the UK market, with this new sponsorship being their latest move.
