Rose Bikes to launch flagship store in Switzerland, 10 additional branches planned

Direct sale label Rose bikes is planning to open a flagship store in Meilen, Switzerland, in Spring 2020, with additional branches to follow throughout the country over the next five years.

Carpathia reports that Rose Bikes’ entry into the Switzerland could boost the online share of the country’s cycle market by up to 5% in the near future.

The Meilen flagship store will span more than 800m2 once opened.

Posting total revenues of €102 million, Rose Bikes is well-known in Germany for its omnichannel concept, technical innovations and digital initiatives. The company has reported sales in the millions are already being made online in Switzerland.

It is hoped the entry of Rose Bikes into the Swiss market will boost online trade in bicycles and accessories, bringing online and bricks and mortar retailing closer together.

Interestingly, the online share in the bike trade in Switzerland is less than 5%, while 80% of the overall market share is generally determined by IBDs, small regional retailers and workshops.

In October, it was announced that a Rose Bikes showroom is planned to land in the UK for the first time, after a government building was bought by multisports business, the RGMM Group.
