SPIN Cycling Festival: Five reasons for the cycle trade to attend

Kicking off this Friday with a London Olympia debut will be the Spin Cycling Festival, a show with big ambitions to become one of the UK’s leading exhibitions.

For those unfamiliar with what the show offers trade visitors, CyclingIndustry.News has rounded up some of the key reasons to consider making the journey:

The Summit Stage

On the opening day The Summit Stage will play host to a plethora of talks, including some trade focused. Those set to appear include; Neos founder Richard Allmark, Velobrands’ Will Miles, CyclingIndustry.News’ Editor Mark Sutton, Chris Boardman, Ned Boutling, Simon Warren, frame builders Tom Donhou and Caren Hartley, plus many more.

Brand Storytelling in Cycling seminar (6PM, Friday)

We are are storytellers, we do it every day in one way or another. Storytelling has always been a fundamental part of design and advertising — engaging an audience with a narrative is something successful brands have always done. In cycling in particular our audiences are ever more demanding, with ever more choice they want provenance and authenticity and a brand they can champion.

This talk focuses on brand storytelling in the cycling industry, provoking you to ask questions about yourself and your audience. This seminar will talk about our experience with cycling brands and their journey together, from discovering who they are through to creating the most appropriate and effective way to tell their story.

The Trade Lounge (Free beer and Volcano coffee!)

Held in collaboration with CyclingIndustry.News, for the first time Spin has allocated space for trade members to retreat to for private discussion and free Camden Town craft beer or Volcano coffee. You’ll also be able to catch the team, grab a copy of the magazine and sign up should you not already receive a copy.

150 brands on show

Known for being a bit of a hotbed for up-and-coming talent, Spin has again drawn a number of new labels who are seeking to expand their UK footprint. Among those profile raising will be growing mobile mechanic business Voncrank, the aforementioned Neos Cycling offering an interesting proposal for bike dealers, hand-built wheel suppliers Strada Wheels, Kask Helmets, folding bike label Vello, custom clothing supplier Scimitar Sports and many more. There’s a large contingent of handmade bicycle builders too.

Watch the Giro D’Italia

Spin will be live streaming the Giro D’Italia throughout the show on the big screen.
