Tern’s folding GSD utility e-bike debuts with 180 kg cargo capability

Tern has followed its excellent teaser video with further detail on its new electric and folding cargo bike, dubbed the GSD.

Capable of hoisting 180 kilograms of load over its 180cm chassis the GSD will happily transport two kids, a week’s worth of groceries and plenty more.

Able to fold down to fit inside the boot of larger cars the bike adjusts to fit riders from 150 – 195 cm—so mom, dad and the kids can all use it. A Bosch Performance motor, with up to two batteries, powers the GSD with 20″ wheels for up to 250km in range. It comes fully equipped with integrated lighting, rack, mudguards, double kickstand, two XL panniers (62 L of capacity), and even retractable passenger foot pegs – everything needed to shift to a bike-centric lifestyle.
