Bettella acquires Padua’s Scapin Bicycles

The historic Padua, Italy-based Scapin brand has joined a new business group following its acquisition.

Headquartered in Limena, Padua, Bettella Srl has acquired Scapin Bicycles from Cicli Olympia in Piove di Sacco, owners of the brand since 2005.

The acquisition of Scapin, which has manufactured bikes in Italy since 1957, marks the official debut on the cycling market by Bettella Srl, which already owns Pinasco, a scooter parts brand with almost fifty years of activity to its name.

Current Scapin products will be marketed by Cicli Olympia while stocks last. From 1 January 2019, Bettella Srl will directly oversee design, development, production and marketing of the new products.

The two companies will be collaborating to ensure consistent assistance for all Scapin bike owners.

“For us, it is extremely important that Scapin remains an Italian brand to all intents and purposes, and in particular a Padua-based brand,” commented Vittorio and Michela Fontana, owners of Cicli Olympia. “We are certain that the new owners will increase the brand’s value and bring new successes to a name that has represented and still represents so much for all cycling fans.”
