Hiplok appoints Sports Nut as distributor for Germany and Austria
Hiplok has appointed Sports Nut as its new distributor for the German and Austrian markets.
A member of the hostettler group since 2014, Sports Nut is based in Tübingen, Germany, and is a specialist distributor serving bicycle dealers across Europe, with a portfolio of leading international brands.
“Sports Nut has an excellent reputation within the industry, an experienced team and a proven track record of representing premium brands. We look forward to working together and building on the foundations already in place,” said Stuart Bailey, Head of Sales at Hiplok.
Hiplok designs and develops security products and accessories for bicycles, e-bikes and motorcycles. In 2021, the company launched the D1000, the world’s first anti-angle grinder D-lock. Today, Hiplok is recognised as the home of anti-angle grinder security.
Daniela Thinius, Managing Director of Sports Nut, said: “Hiplok is known for developing innovative security products and is a natural fit for our portfolio. We see significant opportunities in our markets, and our team will focus on working closely with independent bicycle dealers to build awareness of the range and support its continued growth.”
In April, Hiplok appointed TCK Sports Group as its bicycle distributor for the Benelux. The move aimed to strengthen Hiplok’s presence in Europe, with TCK supporting distribution across independent retailers and key accounts.
Last year, the company moved into a new headquarters in Leamington Spa. The company said the relocation could support its expansion into motorcycle security and “reflect its continued global growth”. Located at The Old School on Court Street, the new headquarters is a restored Grade II listed Victorian building and is part of the Leamington Creative Quarter regeneration programme.
