Saddleback’s house show to draw international brand managers and host dealer training

As the Eurobike dust settles, UK retailers who missed out on the European exhibition are invited Saddleback’s House Show next week from the 12th to 14th of September to catch a host of international brand managers and product debuts.

Run twice a year, Saddleback’s renowned hospitality will again include freshly-ground coffee, cold refreshments, a selection of cakes and treats, freshly made wood-fired pizzas and gourmet burgers. Sound worth the trip to the south-west? You can find directions here and register in under 60 seconds here.

There will also be the chance to join a ride-out on the 3T Exploro and enjoy presentations from Intense Cycles founder Jeff Steber (Tuesday and Wednesday, 11am) and 3T’s Dave Koesel (Tuesday and Wednesday, 1pm).

Saddleback will also be running Stages Dash training, will all registered participants being in with a chance of winning one of the head units to take away.

Saddleback handed us this round up of product for those assessing their shop floor stocks:

3T

The Strada is a true evolution of the road bike. Starting from the wide tyres needed for maximum comfort, the Strada is aero sculpted for real-world speed and wrapped up in an aero, light and simple 1x package that gives you all the gear range you need. Dave Koesel will lead Strada presentations at the Saddleback House Show on Tuesday and Wednesday at 1pm.

With the Exploro, 3T has combined ride-anywhere versatility with wind-tunnel proven aerodynamics to create the ultimate machine for heading off the tarmac when speed, comfort and performance all matter.

While 3T is shouting about its bikes in a big way, the backbone of the business has seen a complete overhaul with a new and simplified range of bars, stems and seatposts.

Castelli

Castelli was a force to be reckoned with at Eurobike, the brand’s enormous stand home to its SS18 collection which includes new products, updates and bold new colours – as well as the latest cutting-edge Team Sky kit.

New for the show, the Flusso Jersey features fast-wicking Prosecco GT fabric, a modern geometric print and bright colour options.

Meanwhile the All Out Speed Suit is Castelli’s fastest-ever tri suit, matching the brand’s Kona-winning short design with its ultra-fast T1 Stealth top.

On top of that, Castelli’s women’s collection is stronger than ever with new bib short options and an array of gorgeous jersey prints to suit all tastes.

ENVE

ENVE has just relaunched its M-series wheels, which offer lighter weight, upgraded impact resistance, better compliance and massively improved pinch puncture protection. The new naming convention gives at-a-glance internal rim width – the M635 is a trail-focused six-series wheel with a 35mm internal rim width while the M930 is the 30mm wide DH wheel of choice.

The M5 and M6 wheels have a redesigned rim bead with an inverted teardrop shape, which helps reduce pinch punctures while the M7 and M9 series wheels come with an innovative rim strip that disperses and absorbs impact energy – reducing pinch punctures by 50 per cent – and saving money on ripped tyres too.

Rotor

Named after Alpe d’Huez, the iconic mountain upon which Carlos Sastre secured Rotor’s first Tour de France victory, Aldhu 3D+ is Rotor’s lightest ever crankset. The modular design features two spindle options for maximum compatibility while also taking advantage of Rotor’s direct-mount single-piece Spidering chainring technology, which allows one-degree adjustment of Q-Rings.

Rotor’s new RVolver hub features a completely new freehub engagement system that uses spring-loaded cylinders and a clutch ratchet ring for instant engagement under power but ultra-low-drag when freewheeling. At only 198 grams or 230 grams for the disc version, they’re some of the lightest on the market.

Sidi

As well as dominating podiums at the world’s biggest races – the top-five at this year’s Tour de France were all Sidi athletes – Sidi’s shoes have always led the way when it comes to footwear style in the peloton, too.

For 2018, this trend continues with the introduction of new colourways and beautiful matte finishes that have to be seen up close to be truly appreciated.

The Sidi Shot and Tiger shoes combine block colours of black and white with bold colouring around the heel, which is also accented on the buckle system and – in the case of the black and red version – the shoe’s liner too.

Stages

Stages has been testing its left-right power meter technology with Team Sky for some time and now everyone else will finally be able to get their hands on the Tour winning tech.

While Stages remains committed to single-leg power measurement, Stages LR is designed for riders looking for every single bit of detail possible in their training and is especially useful for injury-comebacks or those with serious imbalances.

Stages LR boasts accuracy of +/- 1% as well as some other clever innovations through new board technology and is also available in  Shimano’s latest Dura-Ace 9100 crankset.

Silca

Silca’s newest release, the Tattico Bluetooth, is a perfect combination of tradition and the digital age. The portable pump features Bluetooth transmission, allowing you to use the iGauge smartphone app to see live tyre pressure without the need for a gauge on the pump itself.
